Miss Julia White
Associate Play TherapistPg Dip Play Therapy
Julia White has extensive experience and knowledge of working with children and their families. She has worked as a Play Therapist since 2012 and is registered with Play Therapy United Kingdom (PTUK).
Julia has worked effectively with children and young people displaying many psychological difficulties. These difficulties include separation anxiety, selective mutism and death of a parent. Julia has also worked effectively with developmental trauma in children which includes insecure attachment, FASD, autism, low self-esteem and behavioural difficulties. Julia also has experience of working with refugee children.
Play Therapy is an effective approach for enabling children to process trauma, intense emotions and challenging life experiences. It can enable children to explore their story and make sense of it without the requirement of verbal skills and cognitive understanding.
Julia is also a trained Clay Therapist. Working with clay in therapy is potentially both powerful and profound because worries that previously have caused inner concern or turmoil are given shape and form in the outer world, incorporating Jungian theoretical perspectives through the use of symbolism and metaphor.
