Sarah was excellent at getting down to […]'s level to really engage him in the play-based therapy. Equally she was very good at feeding back to us as the parents to aid our understanding, develop our skills and monitor our overall progress as a family.
Sarah Hartley is a child and adolescent therapist registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the Theraplay institute. She provides therapeutic assessment and treatment interventions for children.

At Socrates Psychological Services Ltd, Sarah works with children and adolescents who are experiencing a variety of psychological difficulties, including behavioural problems, anxiety, low self-esteem, self-harm, unprocessed trauma and insecure attachment. She has a particular interest in working with children, and their families, that are struggling with attachment difficulties following adoption. Sarah is also experienced in helping schools to implement support plans, such as RAMP, to minimise a child’s presenting behaviours and/or anxiety. She also has experience of working with young people with learning and/or developmental difficulties, for example Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC).
