Assessment and Therapy
Dr Leanne Tidsey is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Accredited Cognitive Therapist and EMDR Therapist. She has a number of years of experience in the assessment and treatment of adults and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties. This includes several years as a clinical lead for young people presenting with emotional disorders including eating difficulties and deliberate self-harm. She also had a position as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist in the NHS working with children and adults, prior to committing more time to work within the private sector.
Dr Tidsey delivers specific assessments and therapeutic work for adults and children focussing on a range of difficulties (e.g. eating problems, anxiety, depression, deliberate self-harm, PTSD, OCD).

Dr Tidsey has undertaken post qualification training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, having gained qualification as a Cognitive Therapist in 2008. She is a BABCP Accredited CBT Therapist. Dr Tidsey is also qualified in the use of EMDR (eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing) therapy.

Legal Work
Dr Tidsey provides reports to the court in personal injury and medical negligence cases, advising on issues such as diagnosis, the impact of psychological symptoms arising from trauma, prognosis and recommended therapeutic interventions. She sees adults and young people, and has prepared reports for claimant, defence and most commonly, as a single joint expert. Dr Tidsey has attended professional meetings, completed joint expert statements and given evidence in challenging cases. She provides over 120 reports per year.

In addition Dr. Tidsey undertakes assessments of both adults and children related to criminal law proceedings, and has given evidence in court numerous times. Dr Tidsey is an APIL (Association of Personal Injury Lawyers) Expert. She also holds a Certificate in Medical Reporting.

Trauma
Dr Tidsey has a particular interest in trauma, and she undertakes assessment and therapy for individuals following stressful life events, (e.g. road traffic accidents, physical assault, accidents at work/school, and witnessing distressing incidents), including individuals within front line and emergency services. This has included work focussing on clients’ return to school/work/ work related activity. Dr Tidsey has a particular interest in and experience of working with those who have experienced birth trauma and Complex PTSD. Dr Tidsey draws from a range of therapeutic models, including CBT, EMDR and systemic models.

Training and Consulatation
Dr Tidsey provides training on a variety of topics related to psychological difficulties and professional issues to various educational establishments and services. She provides clinical supervision to other clinical psychologists and clinicians. She is also involved with local schools in undertaking careers talks and workshops for pupils interested in a career as a Clinical Psychologist.

Dr Tidsey has contributed to various newspaper and magazine articles and took part in a Channel 4 series in which she successfully worked with a boy with extreme faddy eating.
