Assessment and Therapy
Dr Amanda Gill has considerable experience of working in mental health settings in the NHS in both community and hospital settings. Historically in her NHS role, she worked in a multidisciplinary CAMHS team with children and families with a wide range of emotional and behavioural difficulties. Dr Gill has developed a number of areas of clinical expertise including working with anxiety and low mood and providing assessment and therapeutic work for children and young people with autistic spectrum disorders. She has a lead role within the organisation in relation to autism and young people and is the joint lead for the team at Socrates, which provides assessment and intervention for young people with Autistic Spectrum and related conditions.

Dr Gill provides specific assessments and therapeutic work for children and adults focussing on a range of difficulties (e.g. anxiety, depression, PTSD, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, deliberate self-harm, behavioural and attachment difficulties). She has particular expertise in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) in which she has undertaken post qualification training. She is accredited as a therapist and supervisor with the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy (BABCP). She also draws on a number of other therapeutic models and theories to meet the individual needs of her clients including developmental, attachment, social learning and systemic models. She utilises approaches such as the Parent-Child Game in relation to complex behavioural and attachment difficulties and has received training in delivering Webster-Stratton parenting programmes.

Dr Gill has an interest in psychological issues related to chronic and acute physical health problems, and has worked with clients with a variety of presenting difficulties in these settings.

Legal Work
Dr Gill provides psychological assessments of both children and adults to the Court within family law proceedings and in personal injury cases.

Trauma
Dr Gill undertakes assessment and therapy for individuals following trauma (e.g. road traffic accidents, physical assault, accidents at work/school, and witnessing distressing incidents).

Training and Consultation
Dr Gill is a course tutor for a post-graduate IAPT CBT course, and provides supervision and training on CBT and various other psychological issues to a variety of services and clinicians.
