Dr Victoria O'Key

Dr Victoria O’Key is a qualified Clinical Psychologist, registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). She has a number of years’ experience, paid and voluntary, working with people experiencing a range of difficulties relating to their wellbeing and relationships. She offers assessment and therapeutic work around low mood, anxiety and difficulties within relationships.

She has worked in the NHS for six years within a range of mental health settings and currently works with young people and their families. In her NHS role, Victoria works with young children, aged 0-5 years, and their families. She supports parents to build positive relationships with their children drawing on attachment based interventions and positive parenting strategies.

Victoria’s therapeutic work draws mostly from systemic, attachment and behavioural approaches. She has completed further training in Video Interaction Guidance (VIG), which is an intervention used to support people to enhance communication within relationships. This approach can be used to promote positive change with parents and children of any age. Her current role also involves providing training and consultation to early years professionals.

Victoria has previously worked in a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Team, working individually with young people, and together with their parents. She also worked within a family therapy team during this time.

Victoria is particularly interested in working with children, young people and families.
