Dr Sara Wilson is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and EMDR therapist. She has over 10 years post qualification NHS child and adolescent mental health service (CAMHS) experience, which included 5 years in a Consultant Clinical Psychology leadership position. Dr Wilson has significant experience in conducting clinical assessment, formulation and therapy with children, young people, adults and their families, referred for a wide range of physical, emotional and behavioural difficulties. Dr Wilson started seeing adults, children and families in independent practice alongside her NHS role in 2009. She has been working fully in independent practice since early 2015.

Dr Wilson has significant experience in the assessment and treatment of trauma (including working with asylum seekers, armed forces and emergency services personnel), specialist skills in the assessment of young people and adults with communication difficulties, deafness or English as a second language and working with spoken language and British Sign Language interpreters.

Dr Wilson has experience in delivering clinical supervision, training packages and service consultation (including schools, pupil referral units (PRUs), specialist schools for the Deaf, Looked after Children's teams, Fosterers and Adopters, Leaving Care teams, and Residential Children's Homes). She has also completed post qualification extensive training and continual professional development in Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR) for adults and children. She is also trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and draws strongly from Systemic and other Psychotherapeutic models, accessing post qualification training in Transactional Analysis (TA) and Psychoanalytic Personality Development. Dr Wilson is a trained Webster-Stratton Incredible Years parent group leader and also has experience in the Non Violent Resistance (NVR) parenting model.
