Whilst experienced in using a range of therapeutic interventions including CBT and Systemic Therapy, Dr Shelley’s key model of intervention are attachment focussed therapies. He has received additional training in Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) and Theraplay, both therapies that seek to improve the attachment relationships for children with attachment difficulties.  He has experienced in providing training to foster carers, parents, residential workers and social workers around attachment, developmental trauma and the emotional health needs of children in care.

Dr Shelley is currently the Consultant Clinical Psychologist to Blackburn with Darwen Children’s Services.
