Dr Catherine Regan

Dr Regan has 15 years of experience working in mental health services, and in particular with children, young people and families in NHS CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services). She has extensive knowledge and skills in working with a range of complex mental health difficulties, such as low mood, anxiety, trauma, problems with relationships and difficult to manage emotions.

She offers assessment and therapeutic intervention to children, young people and families, as well as adults of working age, in her independent practice.

Dr Regan utilises an individualised, integrative approach in her therapeutic work. She draws on models including systemic, narrative and cognitive-behavioural (CBT; in particular Metacognitive Therapy). Dr Regan has a specialist interest in working with young people who are struggling with emotional dysregulation and deliberate self-harm, utilising a Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) approach.
